The 1909-11 Colgan's Chips "Stars of the Diamond" (E254) Baseball set consists of nearly 290 variations of ballplayers offered on 1-7/16" diameter discs presented over three years within 5-cent Colgan's Mint and Violet Chips gum tins. These borderless round portrait "cards" featured portrait images of the great ballplayers of the day including Home Run Baker, Ty Cobb, Eddie Collins, Tris Speaker, Honus Wagner and Cy Young. This collection of 66 subjects includes Hall of Famers and stars like Jack Barry, Fred Clarke, Eddie Collins, Nap Rucker and Joe Tinker, to name a few. This collection of 66 SGC-graded discs includes: three SGC 7; eight SGC 6; 12 SGC 5; four SGC 4.5; 17 SGC 4; two SGC 3.5; eight SGC 3; four SGC 2.5; two SGC 2; three SGC 1.5; two SGC 1; and one SGC Authentic.
