1909 E90-1 American Caramel Tris Speaker Rookie PSA 3 VG - Only 3 PSA Examples Graded Higher!

SCARCE SPEAKER ROOKIE!!! Along with his 1909 T206 subject, the 1910 E90-1 American Caramel Tris Speaker shares the spotlight as one of his true rookie cards. Significantly rarer than its T206 tobacco rookie peer, this PSA 3 E90-1 offering is one of only 29 PSA encapsulated specimens for any grade (at the time this was written), bested by a meager three examples! Since no Speaker 1908 Rose Co. postcard has ever been unearthed, it is his 1909 E90-1 and T206 issues that proudly boast rookie card stature. The 1909 campaign would suffice as the Gray Eagle's first full season, and the Cooperstown inductee would not disappoint the Beantown faithful, batting .309 and setting a still-standing record of 35 outfield assists! One of baseball's greatest all-time center fielders, Speaker's .345 lifetime batting average and 3,514 safeties justify that notion. A brilliant rookie-era batting pose, sparkling hues, fine centering, and relatively clean surfaces are the highlights of this rookie heirloom. Accounting for the assessment are even corner wear and some stray black print dots that do not impede the outstanding aesthetics. Tristian Speaker's bona fide inaugural card, this candy card treat truly resides as one of the finest visually pleasing examples!
