1952 Gil Hodges PSA Type 1 Encapsulated Chicago Tribune Photo – Measures Approx. 8" x 10"

CLASSIC GIL!!! This classic 1952 Gil Hodges batting illustration has been deemed a PSA Type 1 photo, issued during the year the HOF first sacker would clout 32 round-trippers and knock in 102 runs. A formidable clutch hitter, Hodges would knock in 100 or more runs in an incredible seven consecutive seasons (1949-55), ultimately being one of the main cogs in Brooklyn's one and only world championship in 1955. The 8" x 10" image boasts outstanding clarity and a somewhat dark contrast, with the back captions indicating it was taken at Wrigley Field by the renowned Chicago Tribune. No obtrusive creasing is evident, with the only notable surface flaws being some diminutive horizontal streaks along the left and right borders. One of the most resounding Gil Hodges action poses we have ever handled, it serves as a sheer reminder of his immense power that led to 370 lifetime dingers and an eternal home in Cooperstown, New York!
