1911-14 D304 Brunners Johnny Evers Chicago PSA 5 EX - POP 2!
SCARCE FOR THE GRADE EVERS!!! Arguably, the most popular pre-war bread cards are the D304 subjects, first issued in 1911. The second link of the iconic "Tinker to Evers to Chance" double-play combination, HOF second sacker Johnny Evers, is presented here in an eye-pleasing PSA 5 holder. The condition sensitivity of these frail keepsakes is justified by only a single other Evers Brunners Bread specimen boasting a 5 assessment, with a meager four examples graded higher. One of the finest preserved subjects in this world-class D304 set-break, Ever's timeless lithographic pose is bolstered by a pale yellow and tranquil green setting, with no notable creasing on either side. Accounting for the assessment is even corner wear, with the flipside revealing the classic Brunners Bread advertisement. Indeed, synonymous with Evers championship caliber via his three World Series titles (1907-08 with the Cubs & 1914 with the Miracle Braves) comes along this rare for the grade 113-year-old marvel!
