1910 E103 Ty Cobb Williams Caramel PSA 3 VG
TYRUS RARITY!!! One of the immortal Georgia Peach's scarcest cards is his super-elusive 1910 E103 Williams Caramel subject, with this visually pleasing PSA 3 masterpiece bested by only four PSA examples! At the time this was written, less than 25 Cobbs were listed on the PSA Pop Chart, with a mere three other specimens boasting the desirable PSA 3 assessment. The extremely obscure 1910 Williams Caramel Candy blank-back set includes 30 baseball subjects, and since they were printed on super-fragile paper stock, their extreme condition sensitivity has placed a handful of mid-grade examples as the finest existing exemplars. Of course, any Ty Cobb early 20th century card is worthy of the highest accolades, let alone one portraying the classic Carl Horner portrait image of the fiery superstar. This particular offering reveals a near-perfectly centered Horner image and imposing red background, the same illustration affixed to Cobb's iconic T206 portrait subjects, M116 and extremely rare W600 cabinet. Notable flaws include standard corner wear, a vertical crease directly beneath Cobb's right shoulder, and toning along the borders. No unsightly blemishes are evident on either side, with another 3 VG specimen fetching nearly $10K nearly four years ago!
