1910 PC796 Ty Cobb Sepia Postcard SGC 4.5 VG-EX+ - POP 1; Only 3 Examples Graded Higher on the Combined SGC & PSA Pop Charts!

SCARCE TYRUS POSTCARD!!! Tantamount to the immortal Georgia Peach's unparalleled batting prowess comes this POP 1 SGC 4.5 VG-EX+ 1910 PC796 Ty Cobb Sepia Postcard, bested by only three examples on the combined SGC and PSA census reports! One of the most sought-after Cobb images, it is the exact same pose affixed to his likewise revered 1910 Novelty Cutlery postcard and strikingly similar to the iconic Francis Burke images on his Cracker Jack and 1922 E121 subjects. You can literally feel Cobb's intensity as he stares down another pitcher preparing to stroke another one of his 4,189 safeties, with the 1910 campaign resulting in a .382 batting average pacing the AL for the fourth successive season. The ultra-rare mid-grade assessment is spot-on, with the crystal-clear sepia image highlighting Cobb's legendary hands-apart batting grip that led to his MLB record .366 lifetime average. The unmarked postcard boasts relatively clean surfaces and even corner wear, with what appears to be a diminutive white print mark situated near the upper left border. One of Cobb's most coveted keepsakes, its hallowed stature is justified by an inferior PSA 4 example realizing $13,400 in August 2023!
