1969 Topps #200 Bob Gibson PSA 10 GEM MINT

GIBSON BLAZER!!! This miraculous PSA 10 GEM MINT 1969 Topps Bob Gibson offering just happens to be one of only five PSA examples at the pinnacle plateau and a fitting testament to Gibby's miraculous 1968 campaign when he would claim both the NL Cy Young and MVP awards. Indeed, the flame-throwing right-hander compiled one of baseball's greatest seasons ever in 1968, winning 22 games, completing an astonishing 28 of his starts, striking out a league-leading 268 batters, and posting a miraculous 1.12 ERA in 304 innings of work. Incredibly, that figure still stands as the third lowest figure in modern MLB history, trailing only Dutch Leonard's 0.96 (1914) and Mordecai Brown's 1.04 (1906) ERAs that were both achieved in the dead-ball era! Pack-fresh to say the least, the card itself is an absolute blazer, revealing a classic pitching pose of the legendary right-hander and boasting immaculate surfaces as well as a radiant yellow circle including the "BOB GIBSON – Pitcher" text. Atypically, the virtually perfect centering reveals zero tilt, a common flaw of most 1969 subjects, with the razor-sharp corners, sparkling hues, and blinding white borders the final compliments for this best of the best PSA 10!
