Unlike this one graded higher offering, from 1963 to 1966, there wasn't a single pitcher who could match the sheer dominance exhibited by the immortal Sandy Koufax. Indeed, this virtually unhittable southpaw's blazing fastball and nose-to-toes curveball ultimately spearheaded Sandy in becoming the arguable finest peak-value pitcher in baseball history. Koufax would claim a miraculous three pitching Triple Crown titles in a four-year span (1963; '65; '66), and had it not been for a minor injury in 1964 costing him approximately 10-12 starts, it would have been an unprecedented four consecutive Triple Crowns.
