With his British Open victory in 2000, Woods became the fifth golfer, and also the youngest ever, to complete a career Grand Slam, beating Jack Nicklaus' record by two years. He went on to complete the Tiger Slam – holding all four major championships simultaneously, as this 2000 Open Championship was preceded by a victory at the 2000 US Open at Pebble Beach and followed by wins at the 2000 PGA Championship at Valhalla and then the 2001 Masters at Augusta.
