1912 World Series Program (Boston) - The First World Series at Fenway Park!
FENWAY FIRST WS!!! In an unlikely twist, Smoky Joe Wood, who retired with 117 career wins, outpitched the likes of Christy Mathewson and Rube Marquard, going 3-1 in the 1912 World Series to lead the Boston Red Sox past the powerful New York Giants. Boston won the eight-game series, capturing their second title in a decade. Presented is a canary yellow program from the 1912 World Series, unscored and in overall NM condition. One of the finest examples we have ever seen. Boston's Million Dollar Outfield (Speaker, Hooper & Lewis) battled the Mathewson, Marquard, Ames & Crandall-led rotation, ultimately defeating the Giants in what was one of the most exciting Fall Classics ever. This superb program from Boston is exceptional and represents the first World Series Program from the newly opened Fenway Park.
