1968 Topps Uncut Plaks Sheet with 11 Cards; Includes Clemente/Aaron & Mays/Rose
The 1968 Topps Plaks test set was one of the more unique baseball offerings of the late-1960s featuring plastic sprues of three players each, two pieces of gum and one checklist per pack. Each player in this 24-player set could be removed for the model airplane style three-player sprue. Offered here is an uncut National League double-sided checklist sheet of 11 cards featuring Hall of Famers Aaron, Clemente, Cepeda and Drysdale on the front and Mays and Santo on the backs, as is Pete Rose. At a quick glance, the top and bottom are unevenly cut, though the sheet continues to present in EX-MT condition. This 11-card NL sheet (#s 13-24) displays some light creasing, most notably at the upper corner which displays a small crease into Staub and Clemente on opposite sides. A small tear is visible on top (sixth card from left). This minimal display wear does little to take away from the uniqueness and rarity of this uncut sheet.
