1952 Topps #256 Pete Suder Lionel Carter Collection PSA 9 MINT
LIONEL CARTER'S COMMON!!! Industry pioneer Lionel Carter's collection was one of the most revered and pristine that the hobby has ever seen. Mr. Carter's relentless pursuit of perfectly centered, high-grade and virtually flawless examples made his collection one of the finest ever assembled. His collections spanned multiple generations of players, from tobacco and pre-war to post-WWII, and included some of the most coveted in the hobby, which he pulled from packs and inserted into albums for decades until they were ultimately sold in 2007. His extraordinary 1952 Topps set consisted of strictly 9 MINT or GEM MINT 10 examples. Offered here is a 1052 Topps #256 Pete Suder grade 9 MINT by PSA. This alarming well-centered issue appears every bit pack-fresh, with the central subject against an emphatically bold yellow background within four pristine borders revealing absolute dead-on centering. It's difficult to see how this card did not achieve the ultimate GEM MINT 10 status. Though Memory Lane has presented 9 MINT Suder cards in the past, this pedigreed example from the Lionel Carter Collection is far and away the finest example we have ever offered.
