(LOT 817)
1927 Exhibits Babe Ruth Blue Tint SGC 1 PR

SCARCE 1927 RUTH!!! One of the few Babe Ruth cards issued during his majestic 1927 campaign is this seldom-surfacing SGC 1 PR 1927 Exhibit card. A "blue tint" version, this elusive cardboard marvel is one of only 21 total SGC encapsulated examples, with the Babe's only two 1927 mainstream cards being his E210 York Caramel and E126 American Caramel treats. The 1927 season would see the immortal Bambino wallop a then record-setting 60 round-trippers, eclipsing his previous 59 homer mark achieved in 1921. The Sultan of Swat would lead the Yankees to a four-game sweep of the Pirates in the Fall Classic, with Ruth's unparalleled popularity now spreading across the globe like an uncontrollable brush fire. Accounting for the assessment is scattered soiling and several pencil notations on the verso, yet it is the dynamic swinging pose of Ruth watching another colossal blast sail towards the Yankee Stadium grandstands that steals the show!
