1953 Topps #114 Phil Rizzuto PSA 9 MINT - Highest PSA Example!

MINT SCOOTER!!! This sensational 1953 Topps Rizzuto #114 subject has been graded a very scarce PSA MINT 9, with only five other examples joining its world-class stature as the finest of its kind! Rizzuto's inaugural MLB season was 1941, with the slick-fielding Hall of Famer eventually winning the shortstop job and ably assisting the Yankees in winning their ninth world championship. Rizzuto would ultimately win seven World Series titles, and along with Derek Jeter, The Scooter resides as one of the two greatest shortstops in Yankees history. A lifetime .273 hitter, Rizzuto's finest campaign was in 1950 when he batted a stellar .324, eventually claiming the AL MVP. A magnificent Phil Rizzuto cardboard gem, it portrays a sparkling Rizzuto portrait pose, with the sky-blue setting and robust facial hues stealing the show. Excellent centering, dazzling white borders, impeccable surfaces, and sharp right-angled corners are the final exclamation points justifying the hallowed best of the best assessment. An extraordinary pack-fresh memento of The Scooter, it conjures up vivid memories of his unparalleled ability to scoop up ground balls and turn double plays in a manner seldom seen by most shortstops who ever graced the diamond!
