MUSCLES MANTLE!!! In 1951, Mickey Mantle suffered through a demoralizing hitting slump that led to a demotion to Kansas City. But The Mick rebounded and returned to the Yankees lineup to knock in 13 home runs and 65 RBIs. In 1952, he batted .311 with 23 homers and notched 87 RBIs to earn third place in AL MVP voting. His star was on the rise, and in the end, Mickey Mantle would win seven World Series, three AL MVPs, one Triple Crown and 20 All-Star nods.
