(LOT 502)
1934 Goudey R309 AL All-Stars Premium with Stamped Back PSA 2.5 GOOD+ - POP 3; Only 2 PSA Examples Graded Higher!

RARE FOR THE GRADE!!! As a Goudey Gum Co. 1934 promotional effort, a redemption process was initiated whereby a number of Goudey Gum Card wrappers could be mailed in to the Boston, MA office in return for an oversized thick cardboard stock 1934 Goudey R309 Premium. Measuring approximately 5-1/2" x 8-13/16", five different gold-bordered cards were issued with back easels, one of which is this seldom-surfacing AL All-Stars PSA 2.5 beauty that has only been bested by a paltry two PSA copies! Not only is the easel completely intact, but the verso also includes the obscure stamp detailing the AL 4-2 victory on July 6, 1933, as well as listing the players in the breathtaking 1933 team image. Of course, Ruth and Gehrig are the photo's headliners, and in typical fashion, it was the Babe's majestic two-run homer in the third inning that ultimately made the difference in this inaugural All-Star game!
