1933 Goudey #223 Dizzy Dean PSA 8 NM-MT - Only 3 PSA Examples Graded Higher!
DIZZY DANDY!!! One of Dizzy Dean's most coveted keepsakes is his 1933 Goudey #223 subject, presented here in a spectacular PSA 8 NM-MT holder and surpassed by only three PSA examples! Legendary HOF twirler Dizzy Dean will forever be considered one of the most popular players to ever grace a baseball diamond. The last National League 30-game winner, Dizzy posted 30 wins in the 1934 campaign when he and his brother Daffy's 49 combined victories led the Cardinals to a World Series title. By the age of 26, he had already won an incredible 134 games and was well on his way to being a 300-game winner until a line-drive off the bat of Earl Averill in the 1937 All-Star game broke his toe. Consequently, Dean altered his pitching motion in favor of his injury, resulting in several arm injuries that curtailed his career. Arguably Dizzy's most celebrated card, this '33 Goudey marvel includes a breathtaking pitching pose set against a brilliant array of blue and green background hues. Remarkable centering, four bright white borders, right-angled corners, and seemingly impeccable surfaces complete this mesmerizing masterpiece that has stubbornly defied the past 90 years!
