1933 Goudey #119 Rogers Hornsby PSA 8 NM-MT - Only 3 PSA Examples Graded Higher!

RAJAH GOUDEY GEM!!! A collector favorite, the 1933 Goudey #119 Rogers Hornsby subject has always held a special place in the hearts of vintage hobbyists, with Hornsby's classic fielding pose portraying the HOF second sacker scooping up a ground ball. Presented here just happens to be that hallowed Goudey subject in a PSA 8 holder, with only a paltry three PSA examples graded higher! The Rajah arguably stands as our National Pastime's greatest all-time right-handed hitter, with all due respect to Aaron and Foxx. Hornsby was widely considered baseball's foremost batter during the 1920s via his unfathomable five-year run from 1921 through 1925 that produced three .400+ batting seasons and a record-setting .401 batting average over that historic span. Ultimately ending his career with the second highest lifetime batting average (.358) behind Ty Cobb, Hornsby would claim one World Championship as a player/manager in 1926 when his Cardinals bested the mighty Yankees. Likewise, this stupendous offering provides championship caliber via its vibrant hues, pack-fresh surfaces, pinpoint corners, and atypically near-perfect centering. One of Roger's finest, it boldly stands as a perfect testament to his unparalleled batting exploits!
