1911 T3 Turkey Red Cabinets #9 Ty Cobb Checklist Back PSA 6 EX-MT – Only 2 PSA Examples Graded Higher!

TYRUS T3!!! This remarkable PSA 6 EX-MT 1911 Turkey Red Ty Cobb marvel sporting a checklist back has only been bested by a meager two PSA examples! Incredible as it may seem, those two higher Cobbs just happen to be the only PSA 8s in the entire set, with over 7,600 encapsulated copies only reflecting those NM-MT copies for ALL subjects. We cannot even begin to overemphasize the significance of a high-grade T3 Cobb, for it is this card that can literally sit right alongside timeless treasures such as the T206 Wagner, a Babe Ruth Rookie Card, 1933 Goudey Lajoie and Mantle's 1952 Topps Rookie with regard to prestige, desirability, and visual appeal. Justifying that notion is the other PSA 6 T3 Cobb selling for a whopping $156,000 in August 2023, a bona fide testament to this card's world-class stature.

Only a handful of cards could offer the prolific investment opportunity and breathtaking aesthetics emanating from one of the few existing high-grade T3 Cobbs, with his quintessential batting pose literally transcending time to an era when he reigned supreme as our National Pastime's greatest player. This revered keepsake was issued the same year the mighty Georgia Peach would claim his fifth consecutive batting title in his finest season ever. Tyrus would lead the Junior Circuit in virtually every major offensive category, with his .419 batting average, 248 hits, 47 doubles, 24 triples, 127 runs batted in, 148 runs scored, 367 total bases and 1.086 OPS all representing the high marks of his illustrious 24-year career. Cobb would go on to win seven more batting titles (including an unfathomable nine in a row from 1907-1915), ending his MLB tenure with a record 12 batting championships! Regarding presentation, there are a handful of cards that could possibly match the fascinating artistic colors of the T3 central image designs, with Cobb's #9 subject being the set's most valuable and coveted player.

One of baseball's definitive five greatest all-time players, his collectibles rank right alongside Ruth, Shoeless Joe, Wagner and Gehrig as the most highly sought-after pre-war players, and his cardboard rarities continue to achieve staggering pricing points. Generally speaking, while the T3 Cobb is not an obscure card, this PSA 6 artifact is certainly rare for the grade. It provides the collector with all of the craved key features, including sparkling hues, a picturesque Cobb batting stance depicting the fiery outfielder in his customary omnipresent state, and the renowned T3 flamboyant borders. Nearly all of the technical attributes are consistent with a near-mint specimen, and had it not been for subtle corner wear, you just might be viewing the one and only PSA 7. The classic Georgia Peach batting stance reveals near-immaculate contrast and clarity, with the sparkling green, orange, yellow and grey hues withstanding the test of time while boldly mirroring a stellar oil painting.

A timeless illustration, it boggles the mind to think that a 1911 oversized cardboard issue could retain a vast number of its original features, with the fine edging and near-impeccable surfaces providing additional highlights. Other than some scattered faint surface wear along the borders and verso, this momentous Cobb cabinet has successfully eluded any obtrusive blemishes. One of the most significant pre-war cards extant, what could possibly be more impressive than an oversized keepsake of one of baseball's finest, revealing an extremely rare PSA 6 assessment as well as spellbinding eye appeal. Not only is the Turkey Red Cobb one of the premier 250 Sportscards, it is also categorized as a Top 20 issue. Via its extraordinary Ty Cobb batting pose, this historical remnant turns back the clock to the origin of America's favorite pastime, serving as a sheer reminder of how the likes of Tyrus, Honus, and Matty set baseball on a path to unparalleled standing!
