1954 Red Heart Richie Ashburn SP PSA 9 MINT - Highest PSA Example!

WHITEY!!! The heart and soul of the City of Brotherly Love, Hall of Famer Richie Ashburn was the main cog of the pennant-winning 1950 Philadelphia Whiz Kids. The year before this card was issued, he led the National League in hits in 1953, landing his third All-Star nod. One of baseball's greatest all-time leadoff hitters, Ashburn led the Senior Circuit in walks and OBP four times while pacing the NL in hits on three separate occasions. The offered 1954 Red Heart Ashburn in a 9 MINT is absolutely marvelous. This is the highest graded issue in the hobby and arguably the finest that we have ever offered. A crystal-clear Ashburn half-bust pose, brilliant red background, fine centering, sharp edging including four pinpoint corners, and flawless surfaces all combine to justify the world-class assessment. Only six other examples are fortunate enough to join this ever-elusive memento as Richie Ashburn's pinnacle 1954 Red Heart subject!
