1949 Bowman #100 Gil Hodges Rookie PSA 9 MINT
TOP OF THE POPS!!! Gil Hodges was the cornerstone of the Brooklyn/Los Angeles Dodgers lineup, which included Jackie Robinson, Duke Snider, Pee Wee Reese and Roy Campanella, to name a few. Batting 5th or 6th and holding down first base, Hodges hit an exceptional 370 home runs and drove in 1,274 RBIs, a respectable number from down in the batting order. His Hall of Fame worthiness was evident for many years, but it took 60 years after his retirement and 50 years after his death to earn induction into Cooperstown. Offered here is Gil Hodges on his rookie card from 1949. This ultra-high-grade example merits its MINT 9 grade and should be a must for every high-end ‘49 Bowman collector. Excellent bordering, color and surface cleanliness highlight this highest graded example in the hobby of the Hall of Famer. PSA nailed this one. MINT all the way, bordering a 10.
