1921 Exhibits Babe Ruth PSA 3 (MK) VG
1921 BABE!!! Babe Ruth Yankee cards from his early 1920s Big Apple playing days are among the hottest collectibles in the hobby, with record-setting prices being recorded each and every day. Unfortunately, the number of available Ruth cards from this era is few and far between, justifying why his exalted 1921 Exhibit Hands on Knees subject resides as one of the Babe's highly coveted keepsakes. Other than his 1920 Headin' Home theatre cards, few people realize that Ruth's 1921 Exhibit subject (along with his 1921 Oxford Confectionery issue) stands as his inaugural Yankee card with Ruth donning his new Yankees uniform! In 1921, Chicago's Exhibit Supply Company issued its first of many postcard-sized baseball cards sold in penny arcade vending machines. Measuring approximately 3-3/8" x 5-3/8", this inaugural 64-subject Exhibit Supply set's cream of the crop card is Babe Ruth, presented here in a superb PSA 3 (MK) holder.

Emanating stellar mid-grade aesthetics, the Bambino's iconic hands-on-knees pose has remained nearly unscathed over the past century, as Ruth showcases his "NEW YORK" road grays. Stellar clarity/contrast and no glaring surface blemishes are consistent with any 5 example, with modest corner wear as well as some diminutive surface toning accounting for the grade. For full disclosure, the MK qualifier is due to a negligible green horizontal mark situated along the verso's lower right edge.
