Alexander Joy Cartwright Inducted into the Hall in 1938
Formed the first Baseball Club September 1845.
Drafted the Game's first set of 20 rules to set it apart from other ball and bat games.The First Baseball Game was played on June, 19, 1846 at Elysian Fields in Hoboken, New Jersey. The Cartwright/ New York Clubs version of the game became the dominate version played as the Game slowly spread across the country.
