1952 Topps #306 Lou Sleater PSA 9 MINT
SUPER SLEATER!!! Before ever throwing a pitch in the Major Leagues, Lou Sleater spent time with four different ball clubs, including the Braves, Cubs, Giants and Browns. The well-traveled knuckleball pitcher debuted with the Browns in 1950 going 1-9 with a 5.11 ERA in 20 appearances on the mound. The wily knuckleballer was able to muster seven seasons in the Majors with five teams likely based on his control as he, uncharacteristically for a knuckler, only threw three wild pitches in 131 games. The offered 1952 Topps #306 Lou Sleater has been graded 9 MINT by PSA. This example presents all of the expected attributes and aspects you want from something at this high-grade. This high-end Sleater is one of only nine at this 9 MINT level with a single card achieving an elevated assessment. Near-perfect centering, superb imagery, razor-sharp edges and corners and vivid clarity make this one of the finest Lou Sleater examples we have ever had the pleasure to offer. This one is a stunner!
