1958 Topps #418 World Series Batting Foes Mantle & Aaron PSA 8 NM-MT
WORLD SERIES RIVALS!!! 1957 was a banner year for both Mickey Mantle and Hank Aaron as each captured his respective league MVP. Mantle led the AL with 121 runs and batted .365 with 34 HRs and 94 RBIs to grab the American League crown while Aaron led the NL in runs (118), homers (44) and RBIs (132) to win the Senior Circuit title. But, in the end, Aaron and his Brave took home the World Series title over Mantle's Yankees. The offered 1958 Topps #418 Series Batting Foes graded 8 NM-MT by PSA features the two power hitting opponents. This crystal-clear example displays snow white borders and flawless surfaces. With only the slightest hint of favoritism to the bottom left corner, we can only assume that this minimal OC is cause for the 8 NM-MT rather than a 9 MINT assessment. Only a few handfuls eclipse this high-grade Batting Foes issue from '58. Two Superstar Hall of Famers on one card.
