'52 BOWMAN MICK!!! This superb 1952 Bowman PSA 7 NM Mickey Mantle resides as one of his most coveted cards in the hobby. Synonymous with this card's breathtaking aesthetics is the unbridled legacy of Mickey Charles Mantle. The Commerce Comet captured the hearts of millions of Americans via his colossal tape measure home runs, and it is inconceivable to think that no baseball player, before or after, hit a baseball further than the Mick, who walloped at least ten documented 500+ foot homers. It's no coincidence that the pricing points for his early 1950s baseball card issues have suddenly taken off like an ICBM missile, triggered by the incomparable rise of the Mick's "Holy Grail" 1951 Bowman Rookie and 1952 Topps subjects that continue achieving record-setting prices. The sparkling lithographic image emanates rich blue and facial hues, and like most examples, the classic illustration is somewhat skewed, in this case favoring the lower left edges. A gleaming obverse-side surface reveals no glaring blemishes, the borders are relatively clean, and the somewhat right-angled corners are consistent with the grade. Most significant is the absence of any front-side print lines or flipside gum stains, two major flaws typically plaguing this issue.
