(LOT 291)
Robin Yount 3000th Hit Game Used Bat Signed and Inscribed 3,000th Hit Bat - PSA GU 10 LOA; Yount LOA (Bat & Autograph)

YOUNT 3,000TH HIT SCRIPTED BAT!!! Almost 31 years ago, Robin Yount made history by recording his 3,000th hit. Yount got his hit in the bottom of the seventh inning against Mesa, a single to right field that prompted a break in the game so the Brewers could celebrate. Longtime teammates Paul Molitor and Jim Gantner were the first to embrace Yount at first base before the rest of the team converged. In an MLB.com article in 2011, Yount was quoted as saying, "I found myself getting caught up in it because everyone else was caught up in it. I'll be honest - for me, it was a bit of a distraction. I can remember when I got within one or two hits, I got real angry at myself because I was distracted. I had a long talk with myself after one of those games, I don't remember which one." Well, Memory Lane is proud to offer THAT BAT! This 1992 Louisville Slugger Model P72, 34.625", 30.9-ounce Ash bat with a cupped end, is un-cracked and exhibits evidence of outstanding use.

Many ball marks and ball stitch impressions are visible on the left and back barrel. Also visible on the bat are blue bat rack streaks and an impression from a weighted batting donut. There is a moderate coat of pine tar on the handle. Yount's number (19) is written on the knob in black marker. Yount inscribed the bat, "MY 3,000 HIT BAT 9/9/92" and beautifully signed the bat. Per PSA/DNA, "After a thorough examination of this Robin Yount professional model bat and its player use characteristics, it is in our opinion the bat is authentic, and was game used by Yount during the referenced labeling period. The bat exhibits outstanding use and possesses identifiable player use characteristics. We have assigned the bat grade of: PSA/DNA GU 10". Well, you can't get any better than that. A PSA/DNA 10! You are bidding on a gigantic piece of MLB history. Comes with the full LOA from PSA/DNA for the bat grade, an LOA signed by Yount and an LOA for the autograph of Robin Yount on the barrel of the bat. A momentous piece of MLB history!
