1911 M110 Sporting Life Cabinet Ty Cobb PSA Authentic Altered

TYRUS KEEPSAKE!!! Ty Cobb's most aesthetically pleasing cardboard issue may be his ultra-scarce 1911 M110 Sporting Life Cabinet premium, issued by the Sporting Life News Dealer Co. These pastel-hued rarities reveal brilliant artistic illustrations and include only six subjects, with Cobb being the key player in this extraordinary set. Seldom surfacing in the hobby, their unparalleled eye appeal arguably places them as the most exquisite cards ever produced in our treasured hobby. Presented here just happens to be the iconic Tyrus Raymond Cobb in a PSA Authentic Altered holder, with this offering joining only 14 other examples on the PSA Pop Chart. Entering the 1911 campaign, Cobb had already secured four consecutive AL batting titles and would continue his march towards an unprecedented 12 batting crowns by pacing the Junior Circuit with a miraculous .419 batting average.

The picturesque Cobb batting stance is awe-inspiring, to say the least, emanating an array of pastel hues as Cobb is about to smack another one of his 4,189 safeties. Revealing solid VG aesthetics, the technical Authentic Altered assessment is due to tape removal near the verso's upper left and right edges, as well as two microscopic pinholes at the upper and lower borders barely visible to the naked eye. There are also some scattered light wrinkles and a definitive area of spoiling near the upper left quadrant. Most significantly, the Cobb batting image has eluded any glaring flaws, with the imposing Georgia Peach pose and striking pastel tints synonymous with Cobb's unparalleled diamond prowess!
