The Sultan of Swat's #3 and #47 subjects are the headliners of the 1923 W515 strip card set that includes 60 players issued as six separate strips, each of which included 10 cards. Most significantly, each of these classic images were taken from an original Underwood & Underwood photograph, with some of the cards revealing a copyright symbol and "U & U" caption affixed somewhere near the image's frame, in this case, on the upper border. The Babe's legendary portrait exhibits fine clarity and a robust red setting, extremely well-centered between four off-white borders. The corners depict even wear consistent with the assessment, and no obtrusive flaws are evident on either side.
