1950 Topps Felt Back Joe Paterno Rookie Kansas Back SGC 4 VG/EX
PATERNO ERROR!!!... Joe Paterno resides in a pantheon of the greatest college football coaches in NCAA history with a 409-136-3 record and a 24-12-1 bowl game record. He is the only coach to have won all four of the major bowl games. Offered is a rare 1950 Topps Felt Back Joe Paterno card as a player at Brown University, but featured with a Kansas pennant back.

In production, the felt backing for this example was erroneously attached to the reverse, creating this error card with the Kansas back as opposed to the standard Brown pennant back for the Paterno card. This is the only Kansas back Paterno ever graded by SGC, or PSA for that matter. This highly condition-sensitive card has been graded 4 VG/EX by SGC and is the key to this early Topps Football releases. With his black and white portrait images against a navy-blue background, Paterno is listed beneath his image as "Co-Captain and Quarterback – Brown University". This 1950 Joe Paterno in an SGC 4 is a beautiful card for the Hall of Fame or rookie card collector!
