5X MVP?!!!... What should have been... Ted Williams could easily have become the first player to win four MVP awards, or possibly five, if not for some ridiculous voting from the Baseballs Writers during the 1940s. Williams won the 1946 and 1949 AL MVP awards, but was shafted in 1942 and 1949 despite winning the Triple Crown in both campaigns. He twice lost to Joe DiMaggio and then in 1957, lost to Joe D's replacement Mickey Mantle. This fantastic card of the great Splendid Splinter hails from that season and has earned a NM-MT 8 assessment from PSA. Displaying exceptionally clean surfaces, white borders and sharp edges and corners, this is a marvel to behold, just like Teddy Ballgame. Don't let this beauty pass you by.
