(LOT 621)
1948 Bowman #36 Stan Musial Rookie PSA 7.5 NM+

REDBIRD ROOKIE!!!... St. Louis Cardinals Hall of Famer Stan Musial was THE model of consistency for the duration of his 22 years in the big leagues. From day one, as a 20-year-old, Musial excelled at putting the ball in play, but also had the power to clout 475 home runs over the course of his 22 years in the Majors. In only his second full year with St. Louis, Musial batted a league-leading .357 and amassed league-leading totals in hits (220), doubles (48) and triples (20) while adding 81 RBIs to his resume that season, easily capturing the National League MVP award. Interestingly enough, Musial would earn one more N.L. MVP award by the time Bowman released this issue and would win a third following this campaign. His 24 All-Star appearances remain an MLB record (tying him with Willie May and Hank Aaron).

He was the first National League MVP recipient and won three World Series titles. He won seven N.L. batting titles and two RBI crowns, but a most telling statistic of Stan the Man is that he amassed the exact number of hits both home and away with 1,815 each. The offered 1948 Bowman #36 Stan Musial rookie card is equally impressive with only three others graded 7.5 NM+ by PSA. This black and white Rookie of the Redbird legend is in tremendous condition with sensational centering, vivid clarity and sharpness throughout. The surfaces are virtually flawless save for a scant number of blemishes at lower left. This fantastic Rookie of the great Stan the Man is worthy of a second look, and possibly a bump! Add it to your collection today!
