1910 E93 Standard Caramel Eddie Plank SGC 5 EX
GETTYSBURG EDDIE!!!... Due to Eddie Plank's hallowed T206 specimen, enthusiasts seek his most prized pre-WWI cardboard artifacts. While Gettysburg Eddie is a renowned Hall of Fame 300-game winner who assisted Connie Mack to claim three World Championships, his cardboard immortality is vastly attributed to his aforementioned T206 iconic status. One of Plank's most coveted "E" cards is the 1910 E93 Standard Caramel issue presented here in an outstanding SGC 5 EX holder. One of eight SGC examples at this desirable plateau; only a meager five SGC specimens have been graded higher.

One of this card's most imposing features is the unique Plank pitching image affixed to the obverse side. Many "E" cards utilized similar images within different sets, yet this exalted Plank pose is only evident on his E93 subject. Portrayed in his brown Athletics uniform, Plank's illustration is as brilliant as one could imagine, well projected by a tranquil blue/green hued background. While some scattered soiling along the right border and even corner wear prevents a higher grade, the lack of any glaring surface flaws and the unique Plank illustration substantiate why it would be a main attraction for any formidable candy card collection!
