Jackie Robinson's 4th Career Walk-Off Homer Ticket Stub – August 4, 1954 at Ebbets Field – Brooklyn 8 - St. Louis 7 – PSA AUTH – "POP 5"

JACKIE WALK-OFF HR!!!... Jackie Robinson's on-the-field exploits will forever be overshadowed by his iconic standing as MLB's inaugural African-American ballplayer. Throughout his 10-year career, he would enthrall his fan base via his unparalleled base running, slick-fielding and timely hitting, capturing an NL MVP Award in 1949. Although Jackie wasn't noted for his long-ball power, he did manage to blast double digit homers in nine of his 10 Dodger seasons, with five of those round-trippers being game winning walk-off dingers! This PSA Authentic "POP 5" ticket stub represents the game Jackie belted his fourth career walk-off homer, a game winning blast that bested the St. Louis Cardinals on August 4, 1954 at Brooklyn's Ebbets Field. The Dodgers were trailing the Redbirds 7-6 going into the bottom of the ninth, with Cardinals' twirler Tom Poholsky brought on in relief in the eighth inning to preserve the win.

After his scoreless eight, Poholsky walked Jim Gilliam to open the ninth, and then induced Pee Wee Reese to pop out to shortstop. Jackie Robinson then strode to the plate and with the count 0-1, belted Poholsky's next pitch deep into Ebbets Field's left field stands for a game winning two-run homer, propelling Brooklyn to a stunning 8-7 win! While the ticket stub does reveal the typical surface toning for any 69-year-old artifact, no glaring flaws are evident, with the overall eye appeal consistent with a VG+ example. This particular ticket was for Seat #2; Box D55, costing its original owner a $3.00 admission price. The Dodgers classic red insignia is affixed across the center, and the critical Wednesday, August 4, 1954 date is situated directly beneath the logo. A super neat heirloom from Jackie Robinson's eighth Brooklyn season, it substantiates why he was considered one of baseball's finest clutch performers, once again demonstrating his resilient persona, enabling him to defy all odds by breaking MLB's color-barrier in 1947!
