(LOT 317)
Scarce 1948 Leaf #1 Signed Joe DiMaggio – PSA Authentic – Only 9 PSA Autographed Examples!

SIGNED JOLTIN' JOE LEAF!!!... This sensational 1948 Leaf #1 Joe DiMaggio Leaf Gum Card has been signed by the iconic Yankee Clipper in bold blue ink, and encapsulated as Authentic by the prestigious PSA Company. The legendary "Joe DiMaggio" script presents itself in approximate "9 MINT" strength and has been eloquently placed across Joltin' Joe's Yankee-road gray uniform in super eye pleasing diagonal fashion. Its rarity in this seldom surfacing autographed format is substantiated by PSA Pop Chart that lists only eight other scripted specimens. To place this scarcity level in complete perspective, there are currently 13 unsigned PSA 8 NM-MT examples that sell for roughly $40K, with a significantly lower pop signed example immensely undervalued versus a PSA high-grade unscripted copy.

Such is the case for a myriad of autographed baseball cards that are only now starting to gain their true esteemed recognition, especially considering their fractional existence versus unsigned brethren. Further adding to the desirability and value of this magnificent keepsake is its #1 checklist status and the fact it is the great DiMaggio's first post-WWII mainstream issue. The classic batting pose reveals fine registration and vibrant hues as the Yankee Clipper completes his mighty swing. No glaring blemishes are evident on either side, with the overall aesthetics reflecting VG appeal. Of course, it is the highly coveted bold blue pen autograph stealing the show, with a majority of the remaining scripted Leaf DiMaggio's depicting Sharpie signatures. One of the most significant signed "Joe D." cards on the planet, now is certainly the time to capture this ultra-scarce heirloom before its undervalued price-tag soars to stratospheric heights!
