1937 World Series w/Lou Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio, Mel Ott & Jo-Jo Moore – PSA Type 1 Encapsulated Original Underwood & Underwood Photo - Measures Approx. 8" x 10"

1937 WORLD SERIES!!!... The 1937 Fall Classic would see a rematch of the 1936 Series, with the mighty New York Yankees once again matching up against their cross-river rival New York Giants. The Yankees would continue their dominance over their cross-town opponents by besting the Giant's in a short five-game series. The opening game would be played at Yankee Stadium before 60,000+ fans with Giant's ace lefthander Carl Hubbell clinging to a 1-0 lead over Yankees southpaw Lefty Gomez through four innings. In the bottom of the fifth, Joe DiMaggio would plate two runs with a clutch single, and the Yankees would move on to best Hubbell by an 8-1 score.

Before this grand opening game, the Yankees two immortals, Lou Gehrig and Joe DiMaggio, would pose with Hall of Fame slugger Mel Ott and fine hitting left fielder Jo-Jo Moore. This outstanding offering by the renowned Underwood & Underwood News Service portrays that image in world-class fashion, as the four New Yorkers grip on to a period-style bat. This 8" x 10" marvel emulates impeccable contrast and resolution, with only some modest surface wear situated along Mel Ott's forehead (directly beneath his cap). The verso includes a critical caption depicting details of the Game #1 Yankees win as well as the four Big Apple stars. A revered memento from that by-gone Fall Classic, it includes three of the finest ballplayers who ever played in New York, with the exploits of the iconic Iron Horse and Yankee Clipper echoing for eternity!
