1962 Topps #300 Willie Mays PSA 8.5 NM-MT+

UNBELIEVABLE HIGH-GRADE MAYS!!!... In 1962, San Francisco Giants slugger, Willie Mays, was in the prime of his career. Leading the league in home runs for the second time with 49 round-trippers, Willie also won his sixth Gold Glove and two All-Star nods. He was by far the best centerfielder in the National League and arguably the greatest in history, even then. Mays finished runner-up in MVP voting behind Los Angeles' Maury Wills, who tore up the base paths with an astounding and league-leading 104 stolen bases. But Willie led or was near the top of virtually every offensive category that season. Mays led his Giants team to the National League pennant, only to fall short losing to the New York Yankees in seven games of the 1962 World Series.

The offered is a stunning 1962 Topps #300 Willie Mays graded 8.5 NM-MT+ by PSA. Still highly desirable, this card reflects all aspects of PSA's grading scale for an 8.5 NM-MT+ example and displays no signs of wear, including no chipping of the delicate wood-grained borders that make this issue so desirable. Amazingly well-centered with sharp edges and corners and a virtually flawless face and reverse make this one for the finest of collections. This KEY to the heralded '62 Topps release has only three equals and a mere 10 superiors making it one of the highest graded copies in the hobby. This is a fantastic high-grade example of the Say Hey Kid from 1962 resides remarkably well-preserved within this NM-MT+ holder from PSA!
