1955 Topps #124 Harmon Killebrew Rookie Card PSA 9 MINT – Only One PSA Example Graded Higher!

"KILLER" PSA 9 ROOKIE!!!... Presented here just happens to be one of the most significant post-WWII rookie cards, a PSA 9 MINT 1955 Topps #124 Harmon Killebrew subject representing his true inaugural keepsake. Bested by only a single PSA example, a microscopic 0.3% of the 6,200 PSA encapsulated specimens also reveal the hallowed "9" assessment! Power-hitting Harmon Killebrew was one of the baseball's most prolific home run bashers, with the Cooperstown Inductee clouting 573 lifetime dingers. When he retired, he was ranked third behind Ruth and Kiner in home run frequency, led the league in home runs six separate seasons, was an 11-time all-star and claimed an AL MVP award in 1969. One of the true nice guys of baseball, Killebrew's personality and aforementioned achievements have made him very popular with collectors, with the pristine aesthetics of this museum worthy offering consistent with the world-class grade.

Killebrew was just 18 years-old when he played his first game with the Washington Senators in 1954, shuffling back and forth between the major and minor leagues for five years before finally playing his inaugural full MLB campaign in 1959. "Killer", his popular nickname, did not disappoint the Washington faithful, walloping 42 homers and knocking in 105 runs before he was traded to the Twin Cities in 1961 where he would blast 40+ homers in seven additional seasons. This offering reveals the powerful teenager in a classic portrait pose, ably assisted by a side batting image of the legendary outfielder/first baseman. A gleaming surface appears immaculate, with the breathtaking image highlighted by a radiant-yellow background and near-perfect centering. Blistering sharp corner tips and a super clean flipside complete this 68-year-old Killebrew rookie card that via its esteemed "MINT" assessment rightfully sits near the summit of the prestigious PSA Pop Chart!
