1933 Goudey #35 Al Simmons PSA 8 NM-MT – Only 4 PSA Examples Graded Higher!
PACK-FRESH GOUDEY!!!... This sensational PSA 8 NM-MT 1933 Goudey #35 Al Simmons wonder has only been surpassed by a paltry four examples! Hall of Famer Al "Bucketfoot" Simmons is one of the most under rated hitters in baseball history, playing 12 of his 20 seasons with Connie Macks' Philadelphia Athletics. His nickname was given to him due to his odd batting stance, pointing his left foot towards 3rd base and defying the "don't step in the bucket" hitting philosophy. Well, in Simmons case it worked because he compiled 2,927 hits to the tune of a .334 lifetime batting average.
He also knocked in over 1,800 runs including 11 consecutive seasons of 100+ RBIs, four times he topped the .380 mark (including two seasons over .390), and still holds the Major League record for most single season hits by a right-handed batter when he stroked 253 hits in 1925. Courtesy of this pack-fresh marvel, Simmons' legacy is eternal, with this ultra-colorful revealing a super eye pleasing array of violet, orange, green, and yellow hues effectively bringing to life Bucketfoot's classic batting pose. Fine centering, four snow white borders, impeccable surfaces and pinpoint corners complete this museum-worthy masterpiece that with its imposing aesthetics, stands as one of Al Simmons highly coveted cardboard mementos!
