1985 Boston Red Sox Team Signed OAL Baseball with Clemens, Rice, Boggs & 24 Others - PSA/DNA LOA
The 1985 season for Boston did not go as planned as the Sox posted an 81-81-1 record, finishing fifth in the American League East. Despite leading the American League in hits, the BoSox could not overcome the well-rounded and solid playoff proven contending Kansas City Royals. But that .500 campaign would serve as a precursor to the '86 campaign when the Red Sox won the AL East by 5-1/2 games over the NY Yankees with a record of 95-66 before falling to the New York Mets in the World Series in Boston's most heartbreaking franchise loss. The offered ball hails from that 1985 Red Sox season as Boston sat on the precipice of greatness. This lightly toned OAL Bobby Brown baseball features signatures of 27 Red Sox including Hall of Famers Jim Rice and Wade Boggs as well as Tony Armas, Dwight Evans, Bill Buckner and the 22-year-old Roger Clemens. Autographs range in strength from "7–9". A single mark is visible on the east panel at center. PSA/DNA LOA included.
