The Hall of Fame southpaw utilized a blazing fastball to lead the league in strikeouts seven consecutive seasons (1925-1931), and he still owns the MLB record of nine single-season ERA titles. Unquestionably, his finest season was in 1930 when he posted an unfathomable 31-4 record, leading the league in virtually every category including wins, strikeouts.
