Duke Snider Inscribed & Autographed Bat to Gary Carter - PSA LOA
Based on the many images of Hall of Famers Duke Snider and Gary Carter together, the two superstars built a lasting bond when Snider served as the Montreal Expos play-by-play announcer. For 14 years, Snider served as the Expos' announcer from 1973 to 1986 at the same time Gary Carter was making his bones behind the plate for the Expos (1974-1984) before being traded to the New York Mets in 1984. Offered here is a token of that friendship from The Duke to Carter as Snider gave the Hall of Fame catcher and inscribed Duke Snider C117L Model Louisville Slugger. Inscribed on the barrel is "To Gary - God bless you and your wonderful family - Your "Great" Dad - Duke Snider" in blue Sharpie. This uncracked post-career 35 in. and 33.5 oz. bat shows no game-use with minimal wear or markings indicating usage. Accompanying this certainly treasured heirloom is a letter from Gary Carter's wife, Sandy, attesting that it originated from the Gary Carter estate. Also included is an LOA from PSA/DNA confirmed by John Taube. This is a touching tribute to the friendships forged on the baseball diamond between player young and old.
