1953 Bowman #44 SIGNED Mantle/Berra/Bauer PSA 10 GEM MINT AUTOGRAPHS
In 1953, the Bowman baseball card manufacturer responded to Topps 1952 landmark issue with a significantly impressive 160-card color set of their own. The immortal Mickey Charles Mantle would once again be the key Cooperstown Inductee, yet, for all of the single card Hall of Famers, one of the most highly coveted subjects is card #44 portraying three Yankee legends including Mantle, Berra and Bauer. Arguably, one would think Bowman created this tri-player card in an additional effort to compete with their Topps rivals, with no 1952 Topps cards featuring multiple player subjects. This dynamic trio stands tall as one of the 1950s most heralded cardboard relics, with this extremely rare offering incredibly autographed by all three players in bold blue sharpie!
One of only eight autographed subjects on the PSA census report, just as impressive as its undisputed paucity level is the fact that PSA has awarded all three vertical signatures the pinnacle "10 GEM MINT" assessment! The 1953 Yankees eventually captured their record fifth consecutive World Championship by defeating the Brooklyn Dodgers in the Fall Classic, and it was the superb contributions from these three stars that ably assisted their unprecedented fifth successive title. Synonymous with New York's pinnacle success are the world-class aesthetics associated with the truly classic scripted image revealing near-perfect centering and eluding any glaring surface blemishes; reflecting solid VG-EX aesthetics. Of course, it's the "Yogi Berra", "Hank Bauer" and "Mickey Mantle" bold Sharpie scripts that "steal the show", with their PSA 10 grade elevating this elusive offering to a world-class plateau!
