(LOT 281)
1973 Topps #100 Hank Aaron PSA 10 GEM MINT - Highest Graded Example!

HAMMERIN' HANK "10"!!! Rarely does even the most sophisticated collector have an opportunity to capture a nearly 50-year-old "PERFECT" baseball card, especially when it is an immortal Hall of Fame subject from the ultra-condition sensitive 1973 Topps set. Courtesy of Memory Lane, presented here is an incomprehensible PSA 10 GEM MINT 1973 Topps #100 Hank Aaron marvel that, along with six meager examples, stands as the finest of its kind! At the start of the 1973 campaign, Atlanta Braves superstar Henry Aaron was only 41 home runs shy of tying the immortal Babe Ruth's exalted 714-mark. "Hammerin' Hank" would not disappoint, clouting 40 round-trippers and ending the season a sole-homer short of the Bambino's iconic record. In the past few years, it is no secret that hobbyists are "jumping aboard" the Aaron bandwagon, seizing his prized high grade cardboard artifacts before they reach a stratospheric level.

Hank Aaron's lifetime achievements are nothing short of incredible, and likewise, his representation on this "scarce for the grade" marvel is simply magnificent. Due to their common off-centered and tilted images, the 1973 Topps subjects are among the toughest cards to find with perfectly centered illustrations revealing zero tilt. Indeed, an elite enthusiast's painstaking search for well-centered specimens can seem like an infinite quest. Amazingly, in atypical fashion, this breathtaking Aaron "10" offering offers a near-perfectly centered image with zero tilt. Strongly meriting the premier grade, every possibly technical aspect is pristine, starting with Aaron's classic fielding pose as he utilizes his sunglasses to battle a high-sky sun. Bright/crisp hues, pinpoint corners, flawless surfaces, and four blinding white borders are all immaculate attributes. However, it's the super fine positioning of the hallowed image that "steals the show", leaving the illustrious PSA Grading Company virtually no alternative but to reward this time defying prize with the near-impossible 10 GEM MINT assessment!
