(LOT 2091)
1928 Brooklyn Robins Team-Signed Baseball with Hall of Fame Manager Wilbert Robinson! LOA from MLI and Statz Family LOA

By 1928, Wilbert Robinson and the Brooklyn Robins were eight years removed from the team's last National League pennant win. The beloved "Uncle Robbie" was in his 15th year at the helm in a National League dominated by his former teammate John McGraw and the New York Giants. Offered here is a 1928 Brooklyn Robins team-signed baseball that includes Robinson and Hall of Famers Dazzy Vance, Max Carey and Dave Bancroft. Consigned directly from the family of a team member, this clear-shellacked ball displays lightly toned with virtually all of the 24 black fountain signatures presenting clear and distinct as if penned yesterday with strengths ranging from 5-9. Signed Arnold ("Jigger") Statz with "Brooklyn Robins – 1928" scripted on the sweet spot, this Spalding Official National League ball features 24 players' and coaches' signatures and one unknown.

Autos appears predominantly high-grade with only a handful lesser or lighter in appearance. Autographs include: Bill Doak, Ty Tyson (signed Al.), Lou Koupal, Otto Miller (coach), Harry Riconda, Max Carey, Rube Ehrhardt, Hanks DeBerry (2), Dave Bancroft, Chas. Hargreaves, Babe Herman, Del Bissonette, Jake Flowers, Dazzy Vance, Butch Henline, Jess Petty, Ray Moss (faint), D. L. (Doug) McWeeny, Jay Partridge, H. (Harvey) Hendrick, Watson (Watty) Clark, Howard Freigau and manager Wilbert Robinson (8-9 strength). There is also an unknown "Jim" Robinson auto. Wilbert Robinson's signature is boldly penned and arcing over the Spalding Trademark stamp along the red and blue laces. This is a wonderfully preserved team-signed ball featuring on of the most beloved characters in MLB history. LOA from MLI and Family LOA Of Provenance.
