(LOT 839)
"Unique for the Grade" 1958 Topps #123 Dick Tomanek PSA 10 GEM MINT – "POP 1"; The SOLE Highest Graded PSA Example!

Left-handed hurler Dick Tomanek won an uneventful 10 games in five MLB seasons, traded from the Cleveland Indians to the Kansas City Athletics during the 1958 campaign. Before joining the A's, the Topps Chewing Gum Company had already released his 1958 Topps #123 subject, and it is his finest example that is presented here in a "POP 1" PSA 10 GEM MINT holder! This irrefutable "unique for the grade" offering proudly stands at the summit of the PSA "Pop" Chart, outdistancing its 230+ inferior examples. Tomanek exhibits a classic "hands over head" pitching image as the southpaw showcases his Cleveland-road flannels. A sun bright yellow background and flawless green text box are a few of the highlights of this extremely well-centered image that is encompassed by four snow white borders and blistering sharp edging. Immaculate surfaces are the final exclamation points for one of this supreme "common" that is destined to become one of the centerpiece attractions in any advanced PSA Registered Set!
