1954 Topps #128 Hank Aaron Rookie PSA 7 NM
PSA-GRADED AARON ROOKIE!!! "I don't want them to forget Babe Ruth, I just want them to remember me!" - Henry Aaron. Thank God, that Henry Aaron lived long enough to see his quote come to fruition. All through the prime of Aaron's career, there were always one or two players ahead of him on the respect ladder, most notably Mantle and Mays. But Hank kept hammerin' away. Season after season, All-Star Game after All-Star Game, Hank Aaron kept going out everyday and doing his job. Year in and year out, Hammerin' Hank would bat .300+, hit 35-40 homers and knock in 100-115 runs. Year after year after year after year, Aaron would produce. He played in 122 games in his rookie season of 1954, and wouldn't play less than 145 games again until 1971, in which he played in 139 games and hit a career best 47 round-trippers! In the year 2000, things started to change for Aaron.
MLB had a poll inviting fans all across the country to vote for the "All-Century Team." And vote they did! Over 20 million votes were cast, and Henry Aaron had the third most votes, behind only Lou Gehrig and Babe Ruth. That's some mighty fine company! And the Bambino barely beat out the Hammer, by just more than 1,200 votes. Aaron had garnered more votes from the fans than, Ted Williams, Joe DiMaggio, Willie Mays, and Mickey Mantle, for God's sake! They remembered you Hank, they remembered you. Offered is an incredible PSA 7 NM example of Henry Aaron's 1954 Topps rookie card. A gorgeous card that is certain to be a cornerstone of any advanced collection.
