(LOT 342)
1949 Bowman #60 Yogi Berra PSA 9 MINT

YOGI!!! Lawrence "Yogi" Berra won ten World Series titles as a player! 10!! The possibility of that occurring in this day and age is NIL! Berra played backstop for the New York Yankees from 1946 to 1963, linking two eras of Hall of Fame centerfielders, Joe DiMaggio and Mickey Mantle. And let's not forget his battery mate, Whitey Ford, for whom he caught an outstanding 212 times from 1950-1963. Standing only 5'7", Yogi was a giant on the diamond and considered by many of his teammates as one of the greatest clutch hitters in history. Berra was one of only four players to be named the Most Valuable Player of the American League three times including the aforementioned DiMaggio and Mantle. Following his playing career that earned him Hall of Fame status, Yogi managed the Yankees (1964, 1984-85) and the New York Mets (1976-83) and is one of seven managers to lead both an American and National League team to the World Series. Berra's second-year Bowman card is offered here in a stellar PSA 9 MINT holder. Nothing better in the hobby than this one!
