(LOT 225)
1933 Goudey #223 Dizzy Dean PSA 8 NM-MT

TOUGH DIZZY!!! Dizzy Dean, a legendary Hall of Fame pitcher, will forever be considered one of the most popular and admired players to ever grace a baseball diamond. He is the last National League 30-game winner, a feat accomplished in the 1934 season in which he and brother Daffy won a combined 49 games, leading the Cardinals to a World Series title. By the age of 26, he had already won an incredible 134 games and was on his way to being a sure 300-game winner until a line drive in the 1937 All-Star Game off the bat of Earl Averill struck his toe. Consequently, Dizzy altered his pitching motion in favor of his injury, resulting in several arm injuries that curtailed his HOF career. Collectors actively pursue his most nebulous cardboard artifacts, and this unfathomable PSA 8 Goudey representation of the legendary right-handed pitcher suffices as one of his most majestic cardboard gems issued in 1933. Only three cards grading higher than this PSA NM-MT 8. Considered one of the toughest cards in the 1933 Goudey series. Add this HOF Dizzy Dean PSA 8 NM-MT example to your set. Upgrade today!
