(LOT 209)
1933 Goudey #207 Mel Ott "Batting" PSA 8 NM-MT - Only One PSA Example Graded Higher!

MASTER MELVIN!!! One of the two Mel Ott Goudey cards offered in Manny Gordon's amazing collection, this PSA 8 cardboard gem portrays the more desirable batting pose and has only been bested by a single example! For a considerable amount of time, Hall of Famer Mel Ott was considered the Babe Ruth of the National League, with his 511 lifetime round-trippers residing as the Senior Circuit's top figure until Mays became the first National Leaguer to eclipse his mark. He will forever be known for his high right leg kick utilized as a timing mechanism to ignite his incredible power. Ironically, Ott would capture his only world championship the year his two 1933 Goudey cards were issued. One of the hobby's toughest series, this Mel Ott 1933 bubble gum card displays better than the given grade, impressively representing the very young Cooperstown Inductee. As previously stated, considering there is just a sole example graded higher than this PSA 8 Ott keepsake, any serious enthusiast should go the distance to make it their own!
